The Disordered Eating and Suicidal Behavior Lab uses experimental and naturalistic study designs to examine risk and maintenance factors for disordered eating (including bulimic symptoms, binge eating, dietary restraint, and drive for muscularity) and suicidal behavior (including suicidal ideation, suicide attempts, and nonsuicidal self-injury).  The lab has a particular focus on emotional, cultural, and interpersonal processes related to these phenomena.  We investigate the role of these variables through a variety of methods including physical pain assessment, caloric intake, computerized cognitive tasks, and questionnaires.
